Press release: Aberdeen Standard Investments and Ailon launch its micro-living concept in Helsinki’s Jätkäsaari
Aberdeen Standard Investments and Ailon have commissioned Skanska to build its first micro-living project in Finland, Music Tower, located in Helsinki’s Jätkäsaari. Construction work has already commenced and the project will be completed in spring 2022.
Music Tower will comprise studios for rent, meeting rooms and a sauna department on the top 8 th floor. The residents will have access to a range of social and amenity areas and are part of a vibrant and stimulating community. The special feature of the studio room is the loft feel, which can be seen, amongst other things, in the close to five meter floor to ceiling height. The rooms being higher than usual allows a mezzanine floor to be built over the bathroom and hallway. Music House is being built in the developing area of Jätkäsaari, with good transport connections in Välimerenkatu 22. The LEED v4 Gold Level Environment Class is being targeted for the building.
Christian Schjødt-Eriksen, Fund Manager at Aberdeen Standard Investments, commented: “This is our first micro-living project in Helsinki and I appreciate its outstanding features. This construction project stands out in terms of location, architecture, design, quality and its strong sustainability credentials.”
Jacob Cronstedt, Founding Partner of Ailon Group, commented: “This is a very exciting project and Music House will be a building with character in Jätkäsaari – it will be a sought-after modern city living destination in Helsinki.
”We will be able to utilise Skanska’s expertise in many ways in this interesting project. For example, the location of the plot in between two existing buildings and at the corner of the street has a particular impact on logistics management on the site. In addition, the basement walls are being implemented as a drill piled wall, due to the demanding ground conditions”, says District Manager Yianni Charalambous.
