Jylland tops out as Scandinavia’s tallest modular building and sustainable credentials

Betonmast Mälardalen AB has been commissioned to produce and install four buildings with around 350 rooms for students and young people in Kista, Stockholm, Sweden.

Kista is the foremost ICT cluster in northern Europe and one of the largest corporate centres in Sweden. International companies such as IBM, Microsoft and Ericsson have a long-established presence in the area. Kista is also a vibrant student hub where both Stockholm University and The Royal Institute of Technology have campuses in the area.

There is a clear need in Kista and Stockholm for new Purpose Built Accommodation designed to meet the requirements of today’s generation of students and younger professionals.
Universities and local companies are seeking to attract the best young and international high quality talent, but there is a lack of good quality housing options.

The scheme will provide 350 new studio apartments with extensive social amenities including study areas, cafeì and dining, games room, gym, laundry and sky lounges with garden terraces.

Mike Wigg, Head of Construction of Ailon Group, commented: “Ailon are proud to deliver the tallest modular building in Scandinavia and to implement our sustainable principles in the design and future operations of this building”.
